The Fighting Side of Me

I ain't no fortunate son

Current Times Looking Grim

DO NOT TREAD ON ME ! I WILL STAND AND FIGHT !

THE SOUTHERN CROSS, MAY WELL FLY AGAIN !

This time it will have no racial roots it will be the icon of people of all walks of life, race, gender, religion, none of that will be of issue ! as a nation I pray we are above and beyond those issues as we enter times that will change our nation forever.

We will begin with the ballot box this fall and pray we get it right as the nation cannot withstand the current imbalance of power on capital hill. People will rise to vote or be left to times not seen in this country since the Civil War!

I feel the time growing short, and I ain't ever been a fortunate son, one to be left out of the trenches by necessity. This time will be no different other than the place will be on the soil of the United States. People living in the "can't happen to me" world are going to be caught off guard.

Members of congress will anticipate the 2010 elections they will know that they are gone well before November 2nd and we will see their actions grow bold, especially between the time of election and inaugurations of there replacements. They will have nothing to loose by throwing the lever on the gallows that hold Americans by the neck. As the realizations become more clear to them that they will be loosing their jobs any caution they have exercised will fly out the window. They will begin the push of agendas never noticed before as they skillfully keep everyone’s eye drawn to minor issues created by them so that they can slam carefully crafted legislation designed to enslave the country to a communistic rule. We see the puppets, but the puppeteers remain in the shadows. I imagine promises have been given to the puppets of protection from the end results that are in the sights of the puppeteers. There is much action going on behind those closed doors. Deals have been struck with news agencies to report on things directed to them in exchange for what? Have they been promised protection and exemptions from the coming evil rulers who will be stepping in to power over the United States? Imagine the tingly leg of the queer, Chris Mathews as he stands on the trap door of the gallows of the new government he co-operated with in pulling this scam off. He won't be able to fathom how he could have been betrayed. Is Fox in or out? Could they be in? On the basis of the "one agency that turns all this into a media war that mesmerizes the population at large? Could that be possible?

Is there a huge office building filled with "readers" who are charged with doing nothing but reading any and all sources of those who would speak out against the coming times and physically rise up against them? So they know whom each one of us are and where we are? They have a list of 550,000 so-called possible terrorists, do they also have a list that contains the names of those of us who meet regularly and speak against the practices they are using now? Will they come and take away those with the capabilities to organize a militia of people to fight them?

Will the military known as NorCom (Northern Command) who are currently being mobilized in the United States to train on the streets on how to deal with disasters and possible mob uprisings supposedly for our protection and wellfair, actually turn their guns and power against U.S. citizens? Will they be charged with disarming the public as we saw in the wake of hurricane Katrina? Time will answer questions like these.

The swine-flue has been declared a national emergency by the so-called president. Do the majority of Americans understand what that means? It's been months since the declaration, and you have not heard another word about it, if you even noticed that it was done at all. A state of emergency gives the STATES (not the fed.’s) power to use their National Guard units to assist in aid and protection from, for example, looters who would run rampant destroying and robbing personal properties and businesses. In Katrina they let the looters run wild and went house to house to check on people who may have been stuck with out food and water. Instead they beat old women who had food water and a gun for protection, then took the gun and forced them into a boat to leave their belongings to the looters while they herded these people into a stadium and locked them up refusing to let them leave. In short they were not helping these people they were invading their liberties with force. These forces were not all National Guard, many were high-risk civilian contractors (people who worked for companies like Black Water in Iraq). I’m not going to further a repeat of the wrongs of Katrina, if you missed that, you likely have no idea of current events. A state of emergency on a subject of something like the swine flue will give government agencies the power to declare, for example, a town or city, in a state of pandemic by the number of people affected. Then they could block all roads in or out of that area and quarantine it, not allowing anyone to leave or enter. Now think food delivery and other essentials. Also think the state of emergency was called at the federal level, now they are able to dispatch NorCom troops to the area who will then take control and most likely begin disarming the public and be ready to forcefully do so.

I suggest if you don’t have guns, ammunition, and a good supply of food and water, as well as water purification systems (most places will have an abundance of water but it will need purification), get some. If you don’t know how to handle and fire your guns, get some training. There exist many companies in the United States that specialize in the art of gun fighting as well as physical hand-to-hand combat. Having food and water will do you no good if you cannot protect and keep it. You may feel that the governments FDIC will keep your money safe, but how can a country that crashes financially guaranty anything but hard times? If our system collapses it will revert to a barter system and the only money that will be of value will be cold hard metal coins. If you have a thousand paper dollars I would suggest you search out a source and trade it for a bag of silver coins from our earlier times. A bag that contains dimes through dollars that are pre 1964. Why? how would you spend a gold bar? How would you break it down into pieces say to get a loaf of bread? Get some smaller denominations! Get stuff people will trade for like booze and cigarettes, just think of things you value and require in your day to day living. Think necessities not wants!

You may be thinking it can’t happen here and that I’m daft and lost a wheel off my wagon, I’ll tell you right now, I hope and pray you are right. Better safe than sorry. May God be with us in the coming times. It will be by his Grace that we prevail and preserve this country for our young generations and coming generations.

Dear Sheri,

we are at a push and shove crux of light and darkness and every American SHOULD be uneasy. The president is a liar and master of deception just as was the asp in the Garden of Eden that used trickery to spoil a perfect beginning. Imagine if the apple had not been touched! Everyone living in peace and harmony sharing the riches of this great earth and bartering good labor for good labor instead of greed and discontent!

All that is done in darkness will be exposed in the light and we will be protected by the veil of a God who would bless just actions.

.50 cal:

It saddens me to see this sort of thing.

When Bush was in office I felt many of the same things. And I know people who were wiretapped, questioned by the secret service, and falsely arrested because of their political activities during those years. So I know the danger we face.

I used to think that a revolution was inevitable, and might even be the only way to fix our problems.

I guess two things happened that changed my mind.

For one, I witnessed the birth of my son, and that changed my life and soul forever.

For another, I realized that, even as much as I hated Bush, he didn't do everything I was afraid he would do. He screwed us up pretty bad, yes, but most of the fears I had in the early years turned out to be unfounded.

Now I am sitting on the other side of the fence. I support Obama, I'm glad he's in office, but I read the blogs that are preaching revolution and I'm wondering if this country even wants to hold together.

I am convinced that our system is badly broken, but that we can fix it through peaceful (although maybe not legal) means. I am also convinced that violence will only make our situation worse.

You experienced war, .50 cal. You know what it's like. I don't think I need to say any more.

Eloquently put 50. The pacifist and believer in American ideals in me, wants to say that both leftists and right wingers ought to stand together on fundamental issues. But it would require that each side stop pushing religious / anti-religious agendas. Especially the left (sorry my liberal friends - I know that many of you are not this way, but I cannot help but notice the aggressive stance of the political left). Let majority rule the way it was meant to from the beginning instead of forcing change.

We are no longer in control of this government, that alone should be grounds for a revolution. But being intelligent people, we let it go on because we know there can be no government that is perfect. Everything in this world gets corrupted. And I think it is too late now to challenge the US government.

Just for thought: doesn't the Constitution give people the right to keep and bear arms? Wasn't that put in place so we could challenge the government? Then why is that US citizens are not allowed to own warplanes and devastating firepower to challenge the government? Of course there are good reasons, one important one being national security. But then, aren't most changes that give the government more power done under the guise of making us safer and healthier?

I think it is a good idea to follow your guidelines 50 and stock up on food, water, medicine and weapons. When I get to a point where I can do the same, I certainly will.

Excellent hub 50, although I think our congress and senate are already blatantly ignoring the Constitution and rubbing it in our faces. My worst fear is the same as you stated, martial law being invoked upon us due to the current "puppet" declaring H1N1 a national disaster. And why are they pushing so hard for everyone to get the vaccine?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umwk_sTJmWk&feature

Your advice is sound, we all need to stock up on food, water, and artillery. Whether it happens as you suspect or not, it is better not to get caught with your pants around your ankles. And the good thing about these supplies is that they do not go bad. If a person does not know how to fish, now is the time to learn, right along with setting a snare and purifying water.

You are right on the money in my book. Although I hope that things will be resolved peacefully, I certainly have huge doubts. God bless us all!

Mr. Abell,

I appreciate your stopping in and reading. To many this will be the base of a script of a "Twighlight Zone" episode. You are quite correct in your view of the out of control government, and sooner or later something must give. I have lived decades and have watched the seemingly successful nation of which we live take a turn from God and throwing God out of our schools and work places trying to shove his presence under a rock, I believe will cost this once great nation dearly. I consider myself neither right or left, Republican nor Democrat, and certainly not deaf nor blind. I do how ever have strong feelings about the state of the union and they are simply that "we are coming apart at the seams" we cannot serve two Gods. We cannot sustain the outlay of cash that we don't have. Those doing things in the darkness will be exposed and what they do will be revealed and shouted from the roof tops. The sitting president is no worse than his predecessors on many levels, but he maybe a direct descendant of Judas Iscariot. Fact is I don't know who or what he is, except a liar and a deceiver that has fed the majority forbidden fruit. At whose beck and call does he work? I don't know that either and to say that I do would be no more than bearing false witness upon him. So you see a lot of question marks in the hub. I do recognize the possibilities we face in this country. I was born in the era following the "Great Depression" and was exposed to the up bringing by a man who lived through the depression, my father, he fought in a war during that time as well. The nation bounded back from all that and I pray that somehow this nation, for the sake of our youth, pulls a rabbit out of the hat and once again rebounds and turns their eyes toward God to be again fruitful by his Grace.

outdoorguy38,

first thanks for stopping in. The video you posted is in short, the dealings with biological warfare. It demonstrates, as you know, the scientific capabilities of our country to produce substances that would cripple many people on a scale that would create the need for mass graves as seen in Germany during WWII. This country has thrown stones at other nations for using this type of warfare, and have condemned it, all the while employing scientists to make more and better mixes of infectious diseases. That said, suppose a tornado or hurricane hit a facility that had any of these on the table and they were scattered by accident. The results could be catastrophic in the deaths of so many people. Before it was realized people getting on board jets could carry it to busy airports around the world in a small amount of time. By the time it was caught it could be a world wide pandemic. I for one, would rather be "nuked" with the result being instant death as apposed to the crippling effect that these type weapons cause, a slow miserable death. One only need look as far as Vietnam and see what Agent Orange did to our troops and it was only meant to kill off foliage in a triple canopy jungle so we could see to kill those hiding with in it's densities. If used purposely these diseases certainly could kill millions reducing the population of this world within weeks. It is a horrific thought that these things exist and even are stored here inside our borders. I have a vivid mind and it is capable of painting a viscous picture of what that might be like. Our government is guilty of transporting things like this via train, truck and air through the densely populated areas of America from the site of creation to the site of storage. Having stood guard over installations that go deep underground storing these weapons to an extent I don't know as we were not allowed inside but soldiers talk and if the speak was only 10% true we have some seriously bad things within the ground of this nation. If we reached a point in time that all decided to really quit keeping and producing these things what would we or could we do with the stores all ready held? The ocean isn't deep enough, shooting them into outer space would carry the possibility of a failure like a shuttle craft exploding on launch high in the atmosphere the possibilities are endless. I pray God stays the hand of any who would deploy these things. We live in a dangerous world full of dangerous people. I have no desire to live to see any of this come true, and I cannot fathom anyone who would find the use of this stuff ever to be prudent. If times turn bad enough that my compound and food stores won't keep me then I will be ready to meet my maker.

I will not take the vaccine voluntarily.

Americans need to wake up and never allow one party to rule with the kind of majority Democrats have today. It may be too late, but if we ever get sanity back in our leadership

it should never ever be so one sided.. I was not an Obama supporter, and I would not have protested his presidency if

The opposition party had some control, which they don't..

This imbalance is very dangerous for the Freedom of all Americans, regardless of Race, Religion or political ideology!

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

greatAmerican,

Bingo! What has occurred is our Republic has been reduced to a Democracy by the imbalance of power. It is essentially a 1 party system right now. Come election time I don't want to see it go 100% the other way, I would be happy to see it go to a 50/50 split that would force all to work together instead of trying to undermine each other on party lines. In that scenario I have no problem with the president as his abilities would be limited by the checks and balance system that right now does not exist. I have had my candidate loose the election before many times, but never has it been such an imbalance. As far as Race, Religion or political ideology I actually thought that this would be a good thing by him winning the election and that it would put an end to many who think they were disenfranchised. To a point I think it has and with the elections I pray for a power balance that shows that the country can run regardless of these things, and we have a healthy turn around. Time will tell.

Hi 50,

We all need to be ready for this sort of event, for it will happen, if not this year, then soon enough.

The key survival time is the first 2 months, after that someone will have taken control, at least in localised areas, and the sides will have been defined and entrenched (not necessarily literally)and a sensible decision can be taken.

I would guess you are in the right place to see it without having to get involved unless some fool decided to visit you with malintent.

Hxprof Level 3 Commenter 2 years ago

50 Caliber, you speak rightly of what's to come, though I believe it will be far worse than you suggest. The spiritual life of America has crossed a line; we can no longer count upon God's grace for a defiled nation-no nation can count upon it now.

The survival suggestions you make are for the most part on target (no pun intended). I live in hurricane country, so disaster preps are key here anyway.

One other thing we must be aware of in the coming days. The current government is weakening our national security. Imagine if America DOES breakdown into civil war. How would Russia and China respond?

Bottom line IMO is that Americans need to prepare spiritually for what's coming. There is an end game to this age, and we're living in it.

This is a rather an omnibus reply I'm afraid 50C.Firstly, I've been involved over the years with victims of Agent Orange, in one guise or the other. In recent weeks I met a fellow in his eighties who is very ill from working in a plant that manufactured it (in New Plymouth, New Zealand) His wife died rather unpleasantly some years ago from exposure to it by washing his work overalls. Another victim has just spent 3 hours today talking to me about ongoing and current problems related to his use of it as a defoliant in our national parks when he was in his twenties. he's now late sixties.

A third person, a friend living locally, was in our Army, based in the war zone in Viet Nam and was sprayed with it in base camp back around '70. He has diabetes, asthma, has had a quintuple heart bypass and is probably impotent.

There is little recognition of the damage that it has caused and is continuing to cause, here in NZ. My opinion is that when it as sprayed in VN it was done so with the full knowledge at the very top of its danger to humanity, and was used as much as a test of its future potential as a biological weapon as it was as an immediate defoliant.

Stocking up and arming up are necessities in all, even "civilised" countries. The biggest threat to the population is now the faction which controls and manipulates the governments of our world, and below there the police and military. Disarm the population, muzzle and suppress any dissidents, (or accuse them of criminal behaviour and jail them, child porn on the net is the favourite at the moment, all computers are being spammed by it and you're guilty until proven innocent, a very hard ask.) make sure the majority are on breadline income, in state jobs, or on welfare and you control the population. Communism, fascism, any other ism, religious suppression, dictatorship, pick your tag, it's all the same. - The few oppressing the many for personal gain.

I don't hold that "God" or any other deity will save us from destruction. Rather that they will be used to further fractionalise us, as being a Republican or a Democrat, a Tory or a Conservative, a Negro, a Jew or an Asian is being used to set us one against the other now.

While we bicker among ourselves over Coke v Pepsi we're not united against the real bad guys, are we?

Cheers,

TOF.

Stumbled across this and was like WOW, this guy knows what is going on...yes! you are very correct on everything! Those that aren't taking this seriously are going to be caught so off guard. Yes, everyone wants to believe the best but the hard times have not even started yet.

I say many of these things to people and they seem to feel secure and protected by an 'illusion.' And that is all it is.

Stock up on food and love your neighbor and start caring for each other, because the pain is a coming...whether you see it or not, it will arrive and those asleep will be the first ones out on the street, angry! lost! confused! betrayed! and will be the cause of much of the chaos that is soon to arrive to our Country. Sounds drastic but I am putting it midly.

Sad but have to admit what I see coming. Love God people!

I will most likely go un-noticed save for a few. I worry little with these times as I am prepared to stay or be taken. In the end my destination will be unchanged. If I am here to see it there will be a simple question and if it's answered I might spare them and invite them in to watch the show.

Cheaptrick, Good on you for the preparations. There is a system of water purification the requires no electricity and will turn waters contaminated by all sorts of nasty stuff and all you do is pump it and force it through the filtering system. Here is a link to a video demonstration and I have the small one he uses and a 5 gallon Gerry can model as well.

Water should be priority 1 and then food. One can live 45 days or so with no food but only 3 to 5 days with out water or some kind of drink.

The real questions are where will you place your faith and what is of more value a valued possession or staples to keep you and your family in a disaster type event? I chose this path many years ago, and so far God has granted it's continued growth, it was just a short time back that the well fund finally realized the funds to be started and completed. It gives me one less reason to go to town and fill my water truck from a fire hydrant exposing my self to a government entity. I wish you well in your preparations.

Great Hub - the bottom line doesn't look good! Many years ago America was told she'd be taken over from within - I was young and naive at the time & thought "no way!" Now, 50 years later that answer is "when?" When a nation becomes so broad minded it's brains fall out there's a big empty space left in it's collective barnyard for tyranny to move in -- a wolf in sheep's clothing accompanied by like minded sheep wearing the same disguise. When those inside the pen become strong enough to overwhelm the gatekeeper they take over and those who own the pen become captive. I, personally, feel like I'm already in the pen looking out and it's my own damned fault. Like many, I sat on the fence for 50 years and didn't get integrally involved other than to vote. The question now seems to be: Is it too late to take back the key? Best, Sis

That's a great Hub. I wish there was a press that would stand up and speak as boldly as you!! I, in my youth thought about these things and voiced my opinion as you now do. I found that its not a way to make good friends in my parts of the country. (Northeast) They filled me full of lethal drugs (forciably) and called me crazy taking away my rights to bear arms. What about when the population was a lowed to be armed as well as the soilders that protect this country! Something I said must have really ticked someone off! God Bless You!

50 Caliber,

There was a time in my life I wouldn't have believed such a scenerio possible. One of the first things that alarmed me was when the draft was abolished. I don't believe drafted citizen soldiers would have ever supported this outcome, but professional military is another thing entirely. I think making a profesional military was the first necessary step.

Tom Whitworth profile image

50 Caliber,

I'm not sure what the pay is now, but with massive double digit unemployment there are many young men looking for jobs. They would then owe their allegiance to the government not to WE THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

Tom,

I was thinking the retention bonuses paid to keep the all ready trained and experienced aboard, but I think in the end, it will be the same as you suggest, money accepted by soldiers during these times may well be accepted as "blood money" and as it worked for Judas, by the time many realize that they sold out to the devil and became the ruination of the nation, it will be too late for all of us. I doubt they understand that they are selling their allegiance in this transaction. I still have to take time to ponder this and wrap my mind around it. I find it a very provocative angle and I'm wondering why it never crossed my mind, thanks for bringing it to the front of my thoughts!

What I find most scary about this Hub is the encouragement to arm oneself. It really saddens me that people think like this. What an indictment of all the religious teaching, especially of Christianity which allegedly preaches love.

I am working in my neck of the woods to try to reduce the number of guns in the community. Guns kill and cause misery. Violence begets violence and if we give in to this kind of thinking, then chaos and destruction await.

I know there is much that is wrong in the world, but I don't think we can shoot our way out of it.

Love and peace

Tony

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

tipperary, I used a lot of question marks, so I'm not making a forecast, merely speculating. It never hurts to be prepared for an emergency and with extra food on hand everyone eats so it's a matter of rotating food stock once you have a 3 month supply and eating the older stock and pushing the new to the rear. Haiti would be a good example of a reason to have extra staples on hand. Thanks for reading.

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

tonymac04,

I understand the angle you are promoting and agree that shooting our way out is not a realistic view. Bad people deploy firearms to assault innocent people every day. If it were possible to remove every gun from the hands of every single person in the world in a blink of the eye, those bad people would then use baseball bats. The quest for peace is only achievable, in my belief is through entering the second life by the way of Jesus Christ. That said I do believe strongly in protecting my life as well as others around me. If I were to find that you were being assaulted and I were there at the time I would offer up my life to save yours. So in the end I do not disagree with you, yet I also believe evil people are afoot and will kill you for pocket change, and I for one will not die on my knees in fear.

Thanks for reading and your opinion and I wish you peace for all of your days.

I can't say for sure how I would react when the proverbial-shit-hits-the-fan, but I am a pacifist who believes that the Good Shepherd will walk me through the shadow of the valley of death and I need not fear evil. We are not all soldiers in the body and I expect no one to do as I do. I believe there will be someone placed around you if the need arises and you will be protected as Jesus see's the need. I have walked the valley many times and I pray never again at the level I've seen. Every day holds the shadow and I suppose we will, for the most part fall asleep, when my turn comes I wish it to be doing Gods work.

I like the comparison to a Twilight episode (like the original ones Rod Sterling hosted). The bitter irony in it all. Like the sole man left on earth, loved to read and found himself in front of a huge library only to drop his glasses and crush them. How is being a survivor lucky, if he will never be able to enjoy survival? In our case, being one of the ones who are prepared with weapon, ammo and a years supply of food, when at the end of the year, the food is gone and the world is just as bad as the day the shit hit the fan, what then?

You've put yourself through hell for a year longer than the guy who wasn't prepared had to endure.

I will be prepared, and spend every day of that year looking for a way to gain more time, because like you, I am a fighter. It's nature to press forward against all odds, but ya know.. it's scary to think about what happens when your supply runs out.

excellent hub my friend!

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

Pink Mingos, the Twilight Zone was the heat back when they made TV, I'm familiar with the episode. Night Gallery was another Serling show that I liked.

Ah, ye of little faith, it is all up to God what happens when supplies run out. Will the seeds I plant grow? Will there be wildlife left to harvest? Will the government machine find me with a predator drone and drop a bunker buster on me in the first few days? Will others show up and reinforce me? Will I have enough for 3 months when I share? Will any of this happen and like all other work under the sun be just grasping at the wind? God knows and not me, I am an Infidel, and will not even pretend to switch sides to garner a mustard seed from those who would give me the mark of the beast.

It's good to see you back, I inquired Hammer about you, he never got back to me, so I'm guessing he didn't know. Stay in touch, and God Bless.

I think it all depends on what happens. When I made that comment, I was actually thinking more along the lines of the big mushroom in the sky... I'm hopeful it wont come to something so permanent that we can't "regroup and carry on" afterward.

Twilight Zone was all about bitter irony, while Night Gallery was just plain, good scary stuff!

Hammer had just messaged me about the time I was getting back I think. I'm honored you guys thought about me!

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

Pink Mingos, I hope you took that as a friendly comment on my part, The mushroom in the sky would be a monumental event that would change the face of just about any hope of life here. Think about what the U.S. reaction would be. Every nuclear submarine would surface and their pay load of nuclear missiles would most likely be launched as well as all of our land based silos. In return every one holding missiles would launch and the face of the earth would be wiped clean. I think the hand of God almighty will prevent such an event as I believe he has plans for a new Kingdom right here on earth and he would not let it come to a place that is devoid of form or shape. That would be a whole 'nuther hub.

Your right about the two shows but I enjoyed them pretty much equally.

Hammer and myself enjoyed your hubs and though our comms were few, of coarse we would ask about you. I'm glad your back and hope your son is doing well.

As to being right, I don't know, I'm no Nostradamus and wish not to be one. I had set and watched the goings on up in DC and I felt/feel the rumblings of evil in the air and it is not from a single man, people point the finger at Barry, but this has been a mafia government for quite sometime, many think that like always we'll weather this storm, may be so, but at what cost? and who will pay? how will they pay? when? and on it goes. I feel it important for all to take pause and think hard when dropping that ballot in the box come Fall. An interesting name Fall is for these elections to come.

God Bless, Stay and go well.

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 2 years ago

commisioner, I laughed a little, not at you or your comment but at my minds flash of "we come in peace", we sure have dropped millions of tons of bombs when we come in peace. Heck we are so peaceful all the presidents after JFK sure use a lot of human shields against folks throwing flowers at them. Even the Pope doesn't have enough faith to appear with out his bullet proof box, go figure.

I have no religion, don't believe in the stuff, I do however have Faith in Jesus Christ, it may seem like splitting hairs but it is not. I follow the Bible, It was with God, it is God in it's way as it came from God and the New Testament was delivered to man directly from God through his only begotten son, Jesus, who walked and taught while performing miracles and even those who saw it first hand denied him and his teachings and they killed him for it. Saving our sorry asses if we just ask him to do so.

You are correct, we the people need to act like we are in control come the elections or we very well be forced to act like targets, slaves and who knows what else if we do not act upon the chance to do so. I don't think Ted Kennedy's death was by chance I believe it was by fore planning by our greatest leader to stop congress from doing something stupid and slowing them down until we have a chance to seat a balanced number and folks who might actually represent us with out having a tip jar to be filled in an offshore account.

When you say "our people" I'm guessing you mean Indians of the Americas way back when Amerigo Vespucci found the continent?

Glad you stopped by and read leaving a comment.

As for the list we all may be on it today is the health care vote. It wont be the end as the Supreme Court will decide as to it's Constitutionality. It is not a power granted them, the Feds. There is one state so far that has passed legislation making their citizens immune to the bill, and that is all it takes to force it to the Supreme Court, but I suspect more will follow suite. How do you force people with no money to buy insurance? and then threaten us with a fine that we have no money to pay! This country is getting so stupid it is laughable.

theherbivorehippi, these are just observations from a military mind. I see things growing and take note of where they may be going. Inside the health care bill I have found a private presidential army to be built. Hitler pulled the same stunt, they called them "brown shirts". So with two advantages, the historic events showing where Hitler failed and why, and No country like the USA to come to the rescue should things go wrong. I study each move that they make If the Supreme court knocks down the health bill, the pieces like the army will stand unless challenged. So I think it wasn't about health care at all?

It's been a very strange 10 years in America. So much about the roots of both sides has changed, and not for the good. We even nominated a moderate, John McCain to be our candidate in the republican party. It's sad to think that Reagan was the last true conservative, but right now I think he very much was. Bush 1 wasn't it. Bush 2 wasn't it. John McCain definitely wasn't it, even if I still think despite that he would have been better than Barack.

We've got to focus on ideas. We've got to focus on details. It's no longer enough to talk. It's no longer enough to point fingers. We need action. We need intestinal fortitude. By God, we need friggin LEADERSHIP!

Though I am on other side of earth in Mumbai just now, I also feel quite worried about direction USA is taking. It seems to be dragging not just itself but even many others. India is one such possibility- ruling politicians here are even worse, only thing which helps is diversity in India which does not allow them easily to run and drown in a non existing ditch, just now it seems American politicians are in race any way.

But just like India, it is because of people like you that I feel much more positive about USA and I hope scene will change. I have faith in strength of silent majority in USA. The situation is indeed such that a movement is needed in USA to change its course. But time being there are no signs.

Stuff that offers real things people can get their teeth into in order to make changes, without resorting to violence as the first option. Will be posting some of the suggested options as we become more familiar with the controls and how to navigate around in this hub medium. From what was posted, we intended no one to be compelled by the comments to 'take anyone's side'. (Relevant to other commentary perhaps?) While the post to the hub created seeks only to recruit people to the side of reconstruction of the republic. With activist tools that have proven on occasion to work very effectively, while being doable and within reach of the finances of America's milked-to-death middle class.

Loves To Read, thank you for your fine comments. Hows that whole gun confiscation thing working out for folks there? I was wondering if all the "bad" guys turned them in too? or if robbery and killings are still on the news. I figure we have a bunch of queers in our government as well, they just hang out in closets with obama, here's where I'd normally say screw 'em but that would only make them happy. Cheers 50

Hey 50- good stuff! great hub... folks throughout the ages have been caught with their pants down and their eyes closed. It will be no different here. an example:

The Visigoths gave warning to Rome that 'She' was gonna be taken and laid low if the empire didn't recognize these so called barbarians as equals and give them equal treatment under Roman law- ..trouble was, the Visigoths had been fighting in the service of Rome for hundreds of years and enjoyed the taste of Roman life, its honey, its sword and armor. Many hated Rome but all wanted to be Roman none the less... and the citizens and senators of of Rome laughed.. imagine barbarians dictating terms! Basically the senate told Alaric and his friends to pound sand and stuff their idle threats up their asses. The retaliation and its consequence forced the western empires capitol to capitulate. A city of over a million people fell that year(almost 2000 yrs ago) the population fell to 20,000 ....nobody saw it coming, tho the writing was on the wall...just as it is now...

guns will be taken- mine have already been taken- a knife over 3inches will put me in jail if i cross the wrong street! Imagine that! My grand daddy and his daddy would spit! My fighting days are over as far as trying to make a difference and force a change by means of petition...

Me - my women, and the hound see a real dim view of the future- got our hands full as I see it. Survival worldwide will depend for sure on many of these point you've brought to the surface 50- great job. The primary necessity as i see it, is a set of coconuts. Balls to realize the danger that lies ahead. Romans didn't get it, didn't take precautions even when the barbarian was at the gates!

We aren't kooks, some think i'm a fatalist and an extremist in my outlook. Look, instead of burying my head, [like the vast majority are - same ones will be weeping " This can't be happening!"] I'll help in burying their families if I get a chance between all that god dammed surviving! ... good write

If I sell some import clothing out of the back of my import car to get ahead, do you think its justifiable? In any other circumstance I would agree %100 that buying import is wrong and that it is taking employment from our fellow men. But in our current situation can I say, every man for himself and dog eat dog, as long as I am not breaking any laws or hurting anyone directly?

Asking because I really respect your opinion. Thanks again for your help, Steve.

Steve, bro', no there is nothing wrong selling import, out of an import. If anyone thinks they can shop today and buy American or Canadian made only, their as crazy as I am. Most of if not all the components in this computer are of foreign lands. Life's tough and a feller has to do what's best to feed his family and get ahead. As far as dog eat dog, I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean tripping a brother or sister to get to the last can of beans, then I wouldn't do it, If you mean selling at a profit below the big machines prices, by all means, do it! I buy my clothes at Salvation Army, they do the same, sell well below the big machine. A poor boy has poor ways, but a good heart never forgets to pay his blessings forward. I jumped out of the Corps because of what I thought Bush Sr was going to do - didn't realize my worst fears, but no body since has made me feel better either. Still, since all the prophets from old til now, no one really listens, do they?

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 19 months ago

Dave, I believe you are right to an extent, very few listen, and I think that "not listening" is a trend that will pick up speed as we move along through our life time toward the great tribulation. It's a time that is coming, and even though I know we don't know it's good to be prepared as if it were to begin before I type my last line.

I jumped out of the Corps due to being judged as "unable" to receive any more promotions due to being unable to run 3 miles. I was able to fly my Huey as well as the CH-46 but when peace time came, I was a senior enlisted rank in the Silver Wing program that allowed enlisted of Gunnery Sgt. or better to qualify for peter pilot, (second seat) up front. It allowed me a much better paying job out side of the Corps, so I took my wooden foot and passed civilian flight rules and was also a certified A&P to maintain the copters as well.

I took my honorable discharge and left, unaware that I was classified 70% disabled on the charts of the VA, if I wanted to apply for a rating and when I finally did a tidy fund of back pay was issued after a court hearing over their failure to inform me at separations that I was due a much larger check at separations and monthly after that. I often wonder how many never paused for a second and requested the payment that was due them from the time of getting out due to a re-enlistment officer that was available to each of us at squadron level, who had the morals of a rock, like the one that lied to me in a steady stream back to the ones who lied their butts off in the first place to get me to sign up. I doubt I would have signed up for anything else but and it was a family tradition, I did sit and talk with the offering from the other branches as well but I picked the USMC and knew I would from the get go but listening was harsh from the rest when I requested a "air traffic controller" to be my main MOS. They lied as it was a was a high tech. job that I was not set up for as my 8th grade completion with a GED required 4 more years of school that they would have paid for if I signed up for a full 10 year commitment, the four for college and then 6 years active as an officer. I ended up with an 0311 MOS and TAD to HMS 367 3rd Marine Air Wing, running guns out the doors of Huey slicks and 50 cal. machine guns out the waste gunners hatch for 12 months in theater, I'm getting in to a hub here and I'll stop.

I agree, no one really listens in the long run it will get worse, 50

Mimi721wis, your right it has been some time since I pecked this out. I lost trust in this country many years ago, when I wrote this I was weary, and Leary of just what was going on. I saw the party of "no gun rights" take control and feared that would be tops on their agenda of 10 things. I'm so glad for now I was wrong, I didn't want to become a felon by them writing a bill that voided my 2nd amendment rights, the only right that protects the rest. If they take our guns the next will be freedom to speak out against them.

I agree, everyone needs to prepare and brace for impact. There was a time that the UK and adjoining countries were bombed out in ruins from WWII so many think it cannot happen here.

50 Caliber, this hub prompted me to recall a comment I recently made to another hubber who wrote that the U.S. should bring all of its military personnel back home. He essentially said, no longer should our troops be stationed around and all over the world. They should all be stationed right here in the good ol' U.S. of A.

Well, I was a commissioned officer (advanced to the rank of Captain) in the U.S. Army for nearly five years and held a Top-Secret clearance. Thus, I learned about a whole lot of stuff that most of the American public will never be aware of. And I also learned that the U.S. Armed Forces is the most powerful, and potentially-dangerous, organization on the planet.

Thus, armed with that knowledge, I commented to that hubber that we do NOT ever want to bring all the troops back home. We should want to keep them dispersed all over the world because if they ever do bring all of their power, might and advanced technology, and millions of personnel back to the States, we could very well see a military takeover and end up living under martial law.

What the average American is unaware of is that the primary purpose of the Second Amendment of the U.S Constitution is to provide U.S. citizens with the "right" to bear arms so they can protect themselves from their own government, in case it ever decides to pull some funny business.

50 Caliber profile image

50 Caliber Hub Author 12 months ago

Feenix, you are spot on. I'm a God fearing 1st, Marine and have been NCO with similar clearances stationed with sub units of the third Marine air-wing command. We rotated in and out of expeditionary airfields located at multi level underground facilities housing special munitions. I was surprised back when at what we keep on hand for immediate dispersal by aircraft, there were C-130 Marine Jato assist air craft with Cobra Escorts to move cargo to the former Tustin 3rd and El Toro 3rd and expedition steel runway for C-5 Airforce and I got to see an old Globemaster III come in from Travis, they were awesome! I don't know the total number of these places but I know of three and another that was closed with the airbases in California [Marine]. We need our bases and troops scattered for quick response all around the world, hopefully the pallets of humanitarian aid are what is dispersed, but it gives us the option for mass response to remove our troops from places like Afghanistan if need arose or deliver new Helos to support lines. As you say, the way the LEO of small town USA is intermingling their skill to military level it's scary enough sans all troops at home under current leadership, willing to ignore constitutional law and a congress as well as Eric Holder acting with neglect of impeachable offenses that have been shown to America and there seem to be no outcries for them to act. I wrote to Sen. McCain in regard to the bribery of candidates to drop out of senate seat races, his office replied to me the issue was brought up and there was no support from congress to pursue the issue, this was before the elections, I'm writing again to that issue and now the War Powers Act violation. I can see your point of Marshall Law being imposed under the current administration and that was pretty much my point and remains one of my fears that they go house to house confiscating food ration stores as well as our fire arms and ammunition that a portion of the people keep in case of natural disasters like Katrina. There are shortages of these supplies like powdered milk and wheat like the Mormons provide to be canned in #10 [gallon] size cans as well as the new style 5 gallon buckets with screw off lids where Mylar bags with oxygen removers and diatomaceous earth added makes the shelf life 15 years or better. A subject for a whole nother hub :) thanks for adding to the topic, 50

Debbie, I'm of the school one should always be ready and have a back pack, the size of the Marine Corps issue smaller pack, and a list of it's things is different in a few ways but largely the same and my thoughts would make a hub as men stuff things in pockets and women in purses, I call them things one thinks they need some good some not so much.

As far as fear on the items you've listed, any one fears and secretly does it silently, they want to appear tough and unshakeable and there is little need for that.

In the days of yore when we drove a 200 mile round trip, my dad had a ritual of loading tools and an oile filter and the belts he took off the truck engine then put it behind the rear of the cabs seat and put a 1911 government 45 pistol under the front edge of the seat; then when we got going I just did what I was told and that was getting what was needed to where he could get to it. We had the old style ice chests that Igloo made and was more a carrier than a keeper when it came to Ice.They were aluminum and the two handles locked together on the the top to hold the lid on and the shotgun went in from my side and the rifle on his side.

I'm not advocating violence here, as I've come to the point that I'll most likely not have to pull a gun and use it, but I carry concealed 24/7 and practice a two target draw and fire every morning with a shooting timer that gives a signal to go, it times the signal to the first and last of 4 shots, two to each target at 12 feet to 4 feet away, and a round of 6 shots at contact distance, where an attacker has grabbed you and you have to shoot with the pistol shoved against the target. Here in Arizona it has been open carry forever and now with a permit we've gone to concealed as well, my personal choice now. No point in open carry making people worry. I'm getting into parts of another hub.

I carry a emergency trauma kit to save a life and believe that professional training in each is a well invested payment, The medical as well. If I were to wound someone if I could save his life I would making sure he was disarmed and his weapon[s] secured. Mostly I pray that I'm never forced into that situation again. I pray as well, this country becomes a safe place to live again. I've rambled on enough here, If you want certain points of self preparation, or saving a life feel free to email me through the forum here and I'll either email you directly or write a hub or hit me on face book,

Peace,

Dusty

You are preaching to the choir. I have scoped out my spots. This is a good place to pick and chose your battles, or avoid them altogether and still eat good. It wouldn't recommend it for everyone. You have to like sleeping outside with nothing but a mosquito net.

Hey, when I first came to this masquerade, flea market, I gave you a follow. I guess my outspoken ways rocked your boat. You don't have much water out that way, so I see you can't take much rocking. That's cool. You are still upright.

Now, I liked you, and you are living in my desert, so I put one of my first hubs together as a present for you. It might have something to do with whether Native Americans from the Sonora Desert have proof positive of Noah's great flood. It is still there for you.

Hello WD, good to see you drop by. I have to drag my boat a few miles to get it wet, and with a crew of Rottys and other type barkers it's hard to beat them to the fish as I swing it out of Roosevelt, the Damn he built for us here, still holding water, but they gave it a face lift and built a bridge to keep us from driving across the Dam, or maybe to get to the other side when the dam breaks sending a new flood to Sonora tribes?

I'll have to sneak your way and see what you put together for me, LOL.

Thanks for the comment of my day!

Aye, my dogs listen well, they work and earn their keep, it's not the fish I want to take from them but the hook,

I enjoy seeing them get a treat, it works out an even trade, I suppose the one who watches over me, would smile more if I listened more to his call, he only wants back his hook, he's fishing for souls who will take his gift, yet on his terms. I'm open to sharing and giving away, I can't keep anything anyway, to harbor knowledge is the crime, so spread the word, the Lord gives, and takes away.
